Nanostructured Carbon Catalyst for Amide Coupling Reactions under Microwave Heating in the Absence of a Solvent

Carbon nanostructures offer a perfect link between nanoscale materials and organic molecules, making them an ideal platform for molecular catalysts. Herein, efficient, straightforward, high-yield synthetic approach is described to synthesize aryl boronic acid containing the pyrene moiety that noncovalently immobilized by π–π interaction carbon nano-onions’ surface. The nanostructured material catalyzes direct amide coupling reaction under microwaved heating in absence of solvent. multilayered structures nano-onions ensure high thermal stability, simultaneously, they are excellent absorbers, which reduce energy consumption. absorption radiation catalyst effectively influences yield catalytic reaction, up 94%. Additionally, recovery mass losses negligible. Microwave solvent-free condition simplifies reduces amount waste, which, turn, depletes environmental impact.
